My eventful four-decade career in the corporate sector — which has spanned the television and radio broadcasting, publishing, public relations, and financial services industries — inspired me to help others, especially women and high school and college students, succeed in these and other industries.

From State Street in Chicago to Madison Avenue and Wall Street in New York, I have served in various roles in television programming and spot sales, book publishing, public relations and financial services. I’ve worked for and with CEOs at both Fortune 500 and privately-owned companies. The last arc of my career was at a major financial services company on Wall Street, where I advanced from executive assistant to senior administrator to vice president, managing a department that provided administrative support in compliance, technology, property management and business continuity planning to more than 500 client executives and their teams on six continents.

For nearly two decades during my Wall Street career I hired, trained, supervised and mentored high school interns  under the NYC school-to-work co-op program. To help prepare students for their current and future workplace successes, I created a series of business etiquette in-house workshops that instructed my interns in the art of navigating the corporation. These experiences led me to expand my workshop series for students and professionals under the brand of PROWESS – Protocol for the Workplace and Etiquette for Social Situations, which from 2009 – 2021 I presented at local colleges and libraries, vocational institutes and community organizations as well as to private clients. From 2012 to the present, I have blogged on business and personal etiquette topics, women in business, and politics.  Currently, I am focusing on my writing, which has proved to be one of the most enjoyable and challenging undertakings I’ve ever attempted.! More about that later!

Among my industry and community contributions, I have served on the Associate Board of Junior Achievement of New York (JANY); as a contributing member of the Publicity Club of New York: as a docent at the Bronx Zoo, under the auspices of the Education Department of the New York Zoological Society (now, the Wildlife Conservation Society); on my NYC co-op board; and have volunteered on many political campaigns. Currently, I serve on a committee for a major political party in New York’s Hudson Valley.

My wish for those of you who visit my website and read my Blog is that they in some way help you to achieve success and happiness in your chosen career path, to be empowered in your personal and professional lives, and to appreciate the power of participating in the various aspects of American citizenship and self-governing.

To all the students, professionals and community members who have availed themselves of my presentations and Workshops over the years, and to all those who subscribe to and follow my Blog, my deepest thanks and best wishes!
